👋🏼 Hello there, I’m Ashir!

👨🏻‍💻 I’m a Computer Science & Applied Mathematics graduate of NYU Abu Dhabi (May 2026).

🎯 I work across two lanes: Applied AI / ML systems / FDE — RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, Azure ML deployment, and full-stack delivery — and AI evaluation, privacy & efficiency — model evaluation frameworks, LLM quantization, and membership-inference privacy research.

📄 Published researcher in medical AI: our paper on MS lesion segmentation evaluation was accepted at IEEE IJCNN 2026.

👨🏻‍🔬 Professional Experience

I was most recently a Data Scientist at GamaLearn (May 2025 - May 2026), designing, experimenting with, and deploying data-driven solutions tailored to business needs.

My prior work experience:

  • Deep Learning Researcher at NYU Abu Dhabi’s eBrain lab under the mentorship of Prof. Muhammad Shafique working on a mixed precision Quantization framework. I created end-to-end data pipelines to enable efficient experimentation and clear interpretation of results. I used this pipeline to optimize frameworks for Quantizing and Pruning machine learning models.
  • Full-Stack Web Developer at Gantom Lighting & Controls using FastAPI and Django for the back-end, Github Actions for CI/CD, Firestore and PostgreSQL for data storage, Google Cloud Platform and Docker for deployment, and React for Front-end. This role required me to collaborate with technical, design, and customer support teams.

📚 Teaching and Community Contributions

I made animations using Python to aid in teaching math/CS concepts. I have a YouTube channel where I publish educational content. I also taught as a tutor at Schoolhouse.
